Check into your room and spend the day taking rest and adapting to the low air pressure, which is a must to settle yourself to the high altitudes of Ladakh. Late afternoon, visit Shanti Stupa, a true Buddhist architectural gem. Use the evening to scout local markets. The overnight stay is at the hotel.
After a leisurely breakfast, we'll drive to Spituk. Today we'll cover Spituk Monastery, the famous Magnetic Hills, the confluence of Indus and Zanskar River near Nimoo, and visit Pather Sahib, an important Sikh Pilgrimage Site. After covering all these destinations, you will return to your hotel. Stay overnight in the hotel.
This day of your Ladakh tour is dedicated to a full-day excursion to Pangong Lake, a 135 km drive from Leh. Pangong Lake is nearly 140 km long, 3-5 km wide, and more than half of it lies in Tibetan territory. Since you return by the evening, you can roam about Leh's local markets looking for a deal or two. The overnight stay is at the hotel.
On your Jewels of Ladakh Tour, the fourth day begins with a visit to Khardungla Pass at 18360 ft which, not surprisingly, is the world's highest motorable pass. In the afternoon, visit the Sangam of the Indus and Zanskar rivers, and drive past Magnetic Hill & the Thiksey Monastery, which enshrines the most photographed statue of Maitreya Buddha in India. An overnight stay is arranged at the hotel.
Today is the day for cultural immersion in and around Leh. After having your breakfast, you will embark on a sightseeing tour that will include a visit to Thiksey Gompa (monastery), Shey Palace, and Hemis Monastery Hemis. After visiting the monasteries, we will drive to the Stok Palace Museum, which showcases royal artifacts and paraphernalia. Later, retreat to the hotel for an overnight stay.
On day 6 of the Jewels of Ladakh tour, have breakfast, check-out and get an early transfer to Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport on time to board a flight for onward destination.
