Itinerary

Your Georgian experience will begin at its capital city, Tbilisi as you will arrive via a flight at the Tbilisi International Airport. From here our tour representative will transfer you to your hotel where you will spend some free time before we proceed to visit on a walking tour of Tbilisi. Enjoy the splendor of old Tbilisi by taking a walk through its age-old buildings and cobblestone pavements. We shall visit the mesmerizing Bridge of peace, which is a glass and steel bridge designed in a bow-shape.

A site where the 5th-century Christian martyr Saint Shushanik is believed to be buried, the Metekhi church was erected by the iconic leader of Georgia Vakhtang Gorgasali. The church reminds you of the medieval architectural style as it is a cross-cupola shaped church.

Enjoy magnetic views of the mountains surrounding Tbilisi as we climb up the Narikala Fortress through a cable car. The fortress has been ruled by Persians, Russians, Georgians, and Turks over a span of more than 1600 years. The fortress is reminiscent of the glorious past of Georgia.

Sulfur baths of Tbilisi are a great place to visit not just for viewing its scenic beauty but also for medicinal purposes as these baths are known to cure many ailments.

Return to the hotel in the evening and enjoy dinner at the hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel in Tbilisi.

After having your delicious breakfast we will proceed towards Mtskheta, which is a historical town consisting of many UNESCO world heritage sites.

The Svetitskhoveli Cathedral is a beautiful 11th-century cathedral which will take you back into the golden age of Georgian cathedral architecture. The robe of Jesus Christ is believed to be kept here.

Explore the beautiful 6th-century Jvari Monastery which was built by King Mirian the 3rd shortly after he adopted Christianity. He erected a huge wooden cross in this church. The monastery is located in one of the most picturesque locations, overlooking the confluence of Aragvi and Mtkvari rivers.

We will then proceed towards the Uplistsikhe Caves or the Fortress of the Lord. These caves have a history dating back to the Bronze Age and archaeologists have discovered many interesting artifacts in these caves.

Borjomi is a region famous for its mineral water resources. Scientists have found out that the site has been used to excavate high-quality mineral water for centuries. One of the most unique ecological theme parks is available for experience in Borjomi.

We will check in to the hotel Borjomi and you can take part in Medical (healing) procedures (at an extra cost).

After finishing your breakfast we will proceed towards the Imereti Region which holds the beautiful Prometheus caves. The legend goes that Prometheus was a man who stole fire from the Greek gods and as a punishment the gods chained him to the Khvamli Mountain, a place near the Prometheus cave. The cave has a rich collection of nature’s art in the form of colorful formations of Stalactites and Stalagmites.

We will then drive towards the Martvily canyon, which used to be the royal bath place. One of the most scenic places that you will ever encounter in the world, you can enjoy a rubber boat ride in this canyon and enjoy the beautiful views of green water and rocky caves.

After an invigorating day, we will proceed back towards the Imereti region and Check in to our hotel. The rest of the time is at your leisure. You can explore the market or take a stroll at the streets of the region.

Return to the hotel in the evening and enjoy the sumptuous meal. Overnight stay at the hotel either in Tskaltubo or Kutaisi.

Enjoy your delicious Georgian breakfast and then we will proceed to visit the city of Kutaisi. The city is the second-largest city in Georgia.

Also renowned for the Kutaisi Cathedral or the Bagrati Cathedral gets its name from its builder, Bagrat III. The cathedral was renovated in 2012, centuries after the Turks exploded the cathedral in the 17th century. The place is listed as a UNESCO world heritage site now.

The monastery of Gelati is considered to be a masterpiece of Georgian Architecture. Built-in the 12th century, the place is an important religious destination.

We will then proceed towards Tbilisi and check in to our hotel in the town and enjoy some free time.

Day 5 :
Departure
