Itinerary

Day 1 :
Baku

On the first day of your Azerbaijan-Georgia tour, you will arrive at Baku, which is the capital as well as the largest city of Azerbaijan. Our tour representative will escort you to your hotel (check-in starts from 14:00). You will then freshen up and proceed to take a night tour of Baku.

Later return to the hotel and a steamy dinner awaits you when you come back.

Today, after having a wonderful breakfast we will proceed to take a city tour of Baku.

The first stopover of the day will be Heydar Aliyev Center which is a modern architectural beauty. It is one of the most famous landmarks of Baku and was designed by the famed architect Zaha Hadid. The fluidity of architecture which is detailed by the curvaceous outlines of the building which will fixate your senses.

Then you will visit the Upland Park which offers some splendid panoramic views of the city including a truly magnetic view of the Baku Bay area. We will also visit the famous Town Square of Baku where you can just chill out with the locals.

We will also get an opportunity to get a deep insight into the medieval times when we visit the old city or Icheri Sheher of Baku. The 12th-century walls still hold that defensive aspect and look good to defend the city from attackers. The Maiden Tower is another attraction situated in the old city and was built on the ruins of the 6th and 7th-century structures.

Built-in the 15th century, the Palace of Shirvanshahs is one of the most enigmatic structures of Azerbaijan and UNESCO lists it as one of the pearls of Azerbaijani architecture.

The next stop will be the Gosha Gala Gapi or the main gate of the old city. The magnanimity of this place will leave you spellbound. Freshen up yourself by visiting the medieval baths of Baku. The old city contains a bath in every quarter and during medieval times people used to use these Hamam or common baths like we use the swimming pools today.

We will then take a tour of the local markets where you can get great deals on carpets and various antique items. We will also have a look at the rich heritage of Azerbaijan by visiting the Museum of Azerbaijani carpet and folk-applied art.

Azerbaijan declared the Gobustan National Historical Preserve and Mud volcanoes as a National Heritage in 1966. You can find exquisite rock-art specimens here dating back to prehistoric times.

Return to the hotel in the evening and have a sumptuous dinner. Overnight stay at the hotel in Baku.

Today we will proceed towards the Gabala region via road. We will check-in at the hotel in Gabala and then proceed for the sightseeing tour of Gabala. We shall visit the Tufandag summer and winter tourist complex which has a ski slope of its own. Try your hand at skiing and we are sure that you will have a memorable experience here.

Spread over a sprawling 16 hectares of land, the Gabaland Entertainment Complex is one of the most entertaining amusement parks that you will ever visit. The park is full of fun rides which you and your children can enjoy.

On the 4th day of the tour, after having breakfast you will check out from the hotel. Today we will proceed towards the city of Sheki from Gabala via road.

The historic city of Sheki has many mysteries up its sleeve. An important city of the Sheki Khanate is the city that is surrounded by enchanting natural beauty which includes dense forests, sparkling white rivers, and mineral springs.

After finishing our Sheki city tour we will proceed towards Georgia and meet our guide. We will check in to our hotel in Sighanagi, which is a town located along the eastern border of Georgia. The rest of the time is at your leisure. You can take a stroll in the city or spend time in your hotel.

Today you will wake up in the beautiful country of Georgia and after having breakfast you will proceed towards the Bodbe Monastery which is famous for being the final resting place of the famous saint St Nino.

The Silver-coated and the bejeweled grave of St Nino is one of the most significant religious places in Georgia.

Our other attraction today will be the Nekresi Monastery, which is considered to be one of the oldest monasteries in Georgia. The monastery is also considered to be a fine specimen of early Georgian Architecture. Built by Prince Alexander Chavchavadze who is widely regarded as the founder of Georgian Romanticism built the beautiful Tsinandali estate to its present form. We will have a wine tasting session here at a historical wine cellar and also have a look at the history of the Chavchavadze noble family.

We will then proceed towards the town of Tbilisi and check in to the hotel there. If time and energy permits then you can visit the local market in Tbilisi.

After having a delicious breakfast, you will embark on the sightseeing tour of the city. The first stopover of the day will be Ananuri Fortress. Located on the banks of the beautiful Aragvi River, the Ananuri Fortress is considered to be one of the most important castles in Georgia due to the numerous battles that it withstood. Located amid the silk route, the Ananuri Fortress is an amalgamation of many architectural styles.

The Caucasian mountain range is a beautiful unexplored place that can be viewed through the Gudauri Ski resort. We will enjoy the picturesque mountain views from the Gudauri panoramic viewpoint.

A monastery located amongst the snowy terrain of the Kazbegi Mountains, the Kazbegi Monastery is one of the most mesmerizing monasteries that you will visit in Georgia.

Located at a height of 2200 meters above sea-level the Gergeti Trinity Church was built during the 14th century. The natural beauty surrounding this place is just astounding and the church has also featured on the cover page of Lonely Planet.

Later in the evening, return to the hotel and enjoy the sumptuous food at the hotel.

Wake up to beautiful views of the mountains as we prepare to tour the nearby places. After having a delicious breakfast, you embark on a Tbilisi city tour.

Founded in the 6th Century by a Syrian monk St Shio, the Shio-Mgvime Monastery is a beautiful little monastery that will transcend your mind into a bygone era. The minimalistic design of the monastery does not reduce the charm of the place.

Another monastery that we shall visit today is the Jvari Monastery which is considered to be the first Christian monastery in Georgia. Built-in the 4th century over a Pagan Site, the architecture of the monastery is still amazing and is declared by UNESCO as a world heritage site.

Svetitskhoveli Cathedral is one of the most famous tourist spots in Georgia. It represents the golden age of Georgian church architecture and was one of the most extravagant buildings during its time.

Day 8 :
Departure

Today is the final day of your tour and we shall visit the beautiful city of Tbilisi today.

The city has many attractions like the Narikala Fortress, the Georgian National Museum, Metekhi Church, Kartlis Deda and the open-air museum of Ethnography. We will take you on a city tour and shall visit a few of the city's attractions today. We will also provide you with ample leisure time where we leave you and the city of Tbilisi alone.

After finishing our tour, we shall leave for the airport from where we will take our respective outbound flights.
